Hi guys.
I am pretty sure you have your party gear in 1st, stepping on the break and revving your engines like mad... ready for a wheelspin and to speed off into Arthur's Day celebration with Black Eyed Peas @ Sunway Lagoon this coming Friday.
I, unfortunately, do not share that enthusiasm. Well, any enthusiasm for mass appealing concerts and movements anymore these days.
Underground and indie parties and gatherings is where the heart has always been, for Dandelion and myself.
Have fun k.
Apart of the revival effort to launch this blog into its former glory (glory? maybe consistency is a better word), I as avid YouTuber, is proud to give you Dandelion's latest find for this month's Cool Movies on YouTube.
Then we will suggest to you a kick-ass INDIE MOVIE FEST which is set for this weekend. One which I would want to miss myself.
This months movie...
The Big Empty (Indie film, 2005)From Wholphin's DVD Magazine Rare and Unseen Short Films. Directed by Lisa Chang and Thomas Sigel. Starring Selma Blair and Elias Koteas. Produced by Daniel Dubiecki. Story by Alison Smith from McSweeney's No 11.
The Big Empty is a 2005 short film about a woman with an unusual condition that baffles scientists and every men alike. It was written, directed and produced by Lisa Chang and Newton Thomas Sigel. It is based on the short story The Specialist, by Alison Smith. It was executive produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh.
My CommentsStarring Selma Blair (Cruel Intentions, Hell Boy) who plays a young woman, Alice who has a mysterious ache inside of her which originates from her vagina. The plot evolves around that ache-vagina situation which culminates into fame and trouble before reaching to the movie's conclusion.
This 20 minute short movie is to me, a very dark comedy about finding and completing oneself trough love.
In plain English, just another weird movie with deep thoughts and connotations.
Please enjoy the movie.

Taken together, the films represent a broad spectrum of film making voices in Malaysia today."

Wow *gasp*
What else can I say? Just hope there's enough floor seating arrangement for every one.
Off course the movies are availably screened via YouTube on their website and you can download them too.
The reason I go for movie screenings, especially the indie ones are because of the Q&A sessions or discussion sessions that goes on after the movies with the available directors who are present on screening day.
I rarely ask questions but some that was posed and answered really helped deepen the understanding of the movies, indie film making and issues/situations in question.

PS - I'm off to another beach trip. I love my R&R sessions. Posting up a previous trip to another famous island soon/
